Mathieu Kassovitz, in full promotion of the musical "La Haine", was invited on the set of "Grandes Gueules" on RMC on March 4.

During this interview, he returned to his disagreement with Said Taghmaoui, but also to the possible participation of Aya Nakamura in the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris 2024. The director expressed his opinion bluntly.

As the Paris 2024 Olympic Games are fast approaching, various proposals have been made for the opening, including that of Michel Polnareff. However, a suggestion from Emmanuel Macron caught the attention: that of Aya Nakamura using songs by Edith Piaf for this event.

Aya Nakamura’s reaction on social media, expressing her astonishment, raised questions about the veracity of this proposal. This announcement created a debate on the web, some defending it while others expressed reservations, like Olivier Cachin.

Mathieu Kassovitz, invited on RMC to promote "La Haine", also reacted to this rumor, stressing that he had never heard Aya Nakamura sing without vocoder or computer and that he would just like to hear a song where she normally sings."

The attacks are everywhere

Antoine Diers, also recently expressed his dissatisfaction with the choice of Aya Nakamura to represent France at the 2024 Olympic Games, an event that will be attended by more than two billion people around the world.

In a passionate statement, Diers expressed his disgust at this selection. For him, Aya Nakamura’s presence at such a global event is a mistake. He believes that the image of France should be represented by an artist with an international reputation and a musical heritage more deeply rooted in French culture.

The project remains pending, and it remains to be seen if Aya Nakamura can convince skeptics with an authentic vocal performance.
