Born Justin Smith on January 8, 1978 in Paterson, New Jersey, this acclaimed producer has left a lasting mark on hip-hop culture, shaping his landscape with his signature sound.

 

Just Blaze’s career in the music industry began in the late 1990s when he started working at Cutting Room Studios in New York.  His early collaborations with artists like Jay-Z and Roc-A-Fella Records propelled him into the limelight.  The breakthrough came with Jay-Z’s "Song Cry" from the album "The Blueprint", highlighting Just Blaze’s ability to mix moving samples with impactful rhythms.

Beyond his work with Jay-Z, Just Blaze’s portfolio has expanded to include collaborations with a plethora of hip-hop heavyweights, such as Eminem, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar and Fabolous.  Each project showcased its versatility, from the moving melodies of Touch the Sky with Kanye West to the intense energy of Lord Knows with Drake.
